The H-ACT Board is composed of seven veterans of both the stage and the board room. Though all the board members share a deep passion for the theatre, it is the diverse skills and experiences of each board member that is the true strength of the H-ACT Board. Collectively, the seven members have more than 100 years of experience with community theatre. Equally important is the wide range of nonprofit experience, both in the theatre and other organizations, such as the Center for the Creative Arts and the American Association of Retired Persons. Combining theatre and nonprofit experience with a healthy dose of academic, financial, and business management experience, the H-ACT Board has a well-rounded, competent membership.

For more than 20 years, Alan Harbaugh has indulged his passion for community theatre in a wide range of roles and responsibilities as an Actor, Director, and Officer. To his new role as an H-ACT Board member, Alan brings years of organizational experience in running local recreational sport teams and leagues, as well as a Masters of Science (MSc.) in Management. Finally, Alan also brings insight on the workings of non-profits from his time spent as a Webmaster and Project Manager for the American Assoc. of Retired Persons.

Heather Morrissey Otto has spent most of her life performing and working in theater in Maryland, Delaware and New York. She received a BFA in Theater Performance from Fordham University Lincoln Center in New York City. She has worked in all aspects of the theater from acting and directing to theater management and acting instruction. She is already familiar with the world of nonprofit arts organizations, her full time job is Program Director of the Center for the Creative Arts in Yorklyn, Delaware. She is constantly working to ensure the presence and benefit of the arts in the lives of the people in this community.

Ron Knox brings his passion for theater and over twenty years of experience to this board. He has appeared onstage a few times, but his greatest love is directing and bringing new talent to the stage. Ron served as president of Chapel Street Players for four years, an experience which gave him first-hand knowledge of the unique nature of Community Theater boards of directors. His input and perspective are most welcomed in this new organization.

Bill Starcher has over a decade of experience in theatre and non-profit activities serving on several boards including community theatre. Bill currently serves as treasurer on 4 non-profit boards in the tri-state area. Bill also has received some training in both stage and on-camera acting with experience in comedy, drama and children's productions.

A big ham by nature, Luke Short has spent nearly twenty years performing whenever he can with a little bit of directing tossed in. Also a production "jack-of-all-trades", Luke brings a determined "can-do" spirit to the H-ACT Board.

After getting her start as a cow in the fourth grade play, Cindy Starcher has spent a good portion of her life satisfying her acting hunger. With a wide range of experience on theatre and business Boards, Cindy brings a much appreciated knowledge on how to get things done, especially in Marketing. As an actress, Cindy has learned what productions, casts, and crews need in order to be successful. She is committed to meeting those needs for the Hockessin- Area Community Theatre.
